Panthera Group, Mermaid Waters. Did You Know? Mermaid Waters derived its name from Australian surveyor John Oxley. In 1823, John landed his cutter ship 'HMS Mermaid' at the beach naming it 'Mermaid Beach'. Over time, the area to the West became known as the "Mermaid Waters."

The inaugural Gold Coast IMPACT Youth Summit, was a groundbreaking event that brought together young leaders, dedicated to creating positive change in their communities and beyond. As the proud sponsor for the summit, I had the privilege of witnessing firsthand, the incredible energy, passion, and commitment of the attendees. I truly believe that this unprecedented empowering platform for our youth of today, will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the attendees as well as their respective communities. Throughout the two-day summit, supported by IMPACT Patron @angiebell.mp Member for Moncrieff and Shadow Minister for Youth, participants listened to world class thought-provoking keynote speakers and attended interactive workshops that equipped them with the practical knowledge, skills, and tools needed to make a meaningful impact as leaders of the future. The key themes of youth empowerment, resilience, collaboration, and community-building were evident throughout the event. It was inspiring to see young people come together and forge meaningful connections and partnerships that will undoubtedly lead to fostering a positive social change. As the summit came to a close, I was left with a deep sense of pride and admiration for the IMPACTERS of 2023. Their unwavering dedication to creating a better world for everyone was truly inspiring, and I have no doubt that they will go on to achieve great things in their respective fields. The IMPACTERS of 2023 - Inspiring greatness starts with you and you are all a shining example of how the next generation is committed to making the world a better place for everyone.
